Program Descriptions
U10 & U12 Youth Flag (recreational)
Non-contact flag rugby for athletes born 2014–2018. Flag rugby is a fun introduction to the sport focused on movement, teamwork, and skill development in a safe, positive environment. Whether trying rugby for the first time or continuing after Rookie Rugby, this program is designed for all experience levels.
- Practice once per week (location of your choice)
- Practice Location: Tuesdays (Benedict’s Field, Collins Road, Port Williams) and/or Thursdays (Avonview High Schoool, Windsor)
- Practice Time: 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
- Locations:
- Tuesdays — Benedict’s Field, Collins Road, Port Williams
- Thursdays — Avonview High School, Windsor
- Dates: June 2 – August 13
- Jamborees: Not eligible for jamborees
U10 & U12 Youth Flag (competitive)
Non-contact flag rugby for athletes born 2014–2018 seeking additional skill development and game play opportunities. The competitive stream introduces players to provincial jamborees while maintaining a fun and supportive learning environment.
- Practice once or twice per week (participant choice)
- Practice Location: Tuesdays (Benedict’s Field, Collins Road, Port Williams) and/or Thursdays (Avonview High Schoool, Windsor)
- Practice Time: 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
- Locations:
- Tuesdays — Benedict’s Field, Collins Road, Port Williams
- Thursdays — Avonview High School, Windsor
- Dates: June 2 – August 13
- Jamboree Dates: TBA
Jr VRU Intro to Contact (U12, U13, U14):
An introduction to contact rugby for athletes born 2012–2014. This program teaches safe contact skills through age-appropriate progressions and game-based learning. Players will be divided by gender for contact activities.
- Practice Time: 6:00 – 7:15 p.m.
- Locations:
- Tuesdays — Benedict’s Field, Collins Road, Port Williams
- Thursdays — Avonview High School, Windsor
- Dates: June 2 – August 13
- Tournaments: TBA
2014-born players require a signed player exemption to participate in jamborees. - Cost: $225
Jr VRU (U15, U16, U17, U18):
Competitive contact rugby for athletes born 2007–2011. This program supports athletes looking to elevate their game, refine skills, and continue along a rugby development pathway — whether pursuing provincial selection or simply playing for the love of the sport. Players will be divided by gender for contact activities.
- Practice Time: 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
- Locations:
- Tuesdays — Benedict’s Field, Collins Road, Port Williams
- Thursdays — Avonview High School, Windsor
- Dates: June 2 – August 13 (with possible extension)
- Tournaments & Games: TBA
