Middle School Flag

VRU is proud to partner with Eastern Kings and West Hants Middle Schools to offer a Co-Ed Flag T1 Jamboree Series. Hosted by the high schools, the program aims to foster rugby development at the middle school level while strengthening connections between high school rugby teams and their feeder schools.

T1 Rugby: A Fresh Approach to Flag Rugby

Launched by World Rugby in 2024, T1 Rugby blends touch and tackle rugby by incorporating scrums, lineouts, kicking, and breakdowns. Rugby NS has adopted a modified version for its junior programs, offering a game that mirrors traditional rugby and provides more offensive structure. For more information and resources, click here.

We’re thrilled to partner with these schools to bring Middle School Rugby to life! A huge thank you to the middle school staff, high school rugby programs, and all the dedicated volunteer coaches for their support in making this program possible!
