Get Involved with Valley Rugby Union — Coaches, Referees & Volunteers Wanted

Valley Rugby Union (VRU) is growing, and we are looking for passionate community members to help shape the future of rugby in the Valley.

Whether you are a current player, former athlete, parent, teacher, sport enthusiast, or someone completely new to rugby, there is a place for you within our programs.

Rugby thrives because of volunteers — the coaches, referees, organizers, and supporters who create safe, inclusive, and positive experiences for athletes of all ages.

No previous rugby experience is required. Training, mentorship, and development opportunities are available for all experience levels.

Middle Level Flag Rugby Volunteers

Our Middle Level Flag Rugby program introduces young athletes to rugby through fun, non-contact sessions focused on skill development, teamwork, and confidence building.

Volunteers may assist with:

  • Coaching a school
  • Refereeing at the jamborees
  • Helping organize jamboree days
  • Creating a welcoming environment for players and families

VRU Program Volunteers

VRU delivers programming, festivals, development initiatives, and events throughout the year. We are seeking volunteers interested in:

  • Coaching support
  • Refereeing pathways
  • Team management
  • Event and tournament assistance
  • Administration and organization
  • Communications and community engagement

Whether you can help occasionally or are interested in ongoing involvement, we welcome your participation.
